Company settings

Company settings are the home for defaults that affect many workflows. When a behavior should apply broadly, such as labels, rate behavior, terminology, or printing preferences, start here before looking for a route-specific control.

Change company settings carefully because the effects can show up across inventory, orders, labels, reports, and user workflows. If you are testing a new policy, make one change at a time and then check the screens that depend on it. A small setting can be powerful, which is useful when intentional and annoying when accidental.

ID Prefixes is where Pluck keeps generated Asset ID, Type ID, and Kit ID rules together. The shared company prefix is just a reusable ingredient; Asset IDs can still choose no prefix, the shared prefix, or a custom Asset ID prefix. Prefixes are treated as literal text, so Pluck only includes a dash when the prefix field itself includes one.

In practice, profile, addresses, localization, terms, rates, and app behavior are managed in Company settings. Company settings include workflow preferences like search debounce and edit-button visibility. Terminology labels can rename UI terms to match your operation.

Users and roles

User and role settings decide who can perform sensitive actions and which defaults make their day-to-day work faster. Home warehouses, departments, and permissions should match how the team actually operates.

Use roles to protect decisions that affect money, inventory commitments, or company setup. Use user-specific defaults to remove repeated clicks for normal work. A warehouse employee, salesperson, owner, and platform support user should not need the same permissions or the same default screens.

In practice, roles control access to higher-risk workflows (configuration, approvals, overrides). Home warehouse defaults influence order and inventory operations. User-specific defaults (for example start tab per order stage) improve per-role workflow speed. New users can be onboarded with a shareable Pluck invite link that directs them into verification, password setup, and sign-in.

Feature controls

Feature controls let Pluck roll out larger capabilities deliberately. If a feature is not visible, check both the company setting and the subscription or platform-level entitlement before assuming the page is broken.

Some controls decide whether a workflow exists for the company at all, while others only decide how the workflow behaves. When troubleshooting access, first confirm the company has the feature, then confirm the user role allows the action, then check whether a page-level setting hides or changes the entry point.

In practice, some features can be toggled globally and/or at company level. If global control disables a feature, company-level controls should not re-enable it. Debug widget availability can be controlled per company for remote support.

Personal scan feedback

Scanner sounds are personal workflow preferences. A warehouse floor, quiet office, and training session can all need different feedback, so Pluck separates scan sounds from company-wide feature settings.

Users can turn scanner audio feedback on or off for their own account.

In practice, successful scan, failed scan, and scan-save sounds can be controlled separately when the workflow supports those cues. If a sound is distracting in one workflow, turn off that specific cue instead of disabling every scanner affordance.

Rate billing modes

Rate billing modes control how rental duration is turned into chargeable terms. Use them to match the way your company quotes multi-day rentals instead of manually correcting every order.

Rates support two billing modes: Stacked coverage and Threshold floor pricing.

In practice, stacked coverage fills from larger durations down to smaller durations. Threshold floor pricing applies the largest eligible term as a floor, then repeats threshold logic for remaining days. Example (Daily 1->1, Weekly 3->7): 3-7 days = 1x Weekly. 8 days = 1x Weekly + 1x Daily. 9 days = 1x Weekly + 2x Daily. 10 days = 2x Weekly. With Monthly 21->30 enabled, 35 days = 1x Monthly + 1x Weekly.

Simple pricing and themes

Simple pricing and themes are company-wide conveniences. Pricing keeps rate setup consistent from purchase cost, while themes let Pluck look like the company workspace without custom code.

Simple pricing uses purchase cost plus one company daily percentage to derive default rate terms.

In practice, company themes can be previewed live, applied from presets, and saved for later reuse. Preset options include orange, purple, light mono, dark mono, and a high-contrast option for clearer visibility needs. Use Save company after choosing your active colors so the company theme persists across refreshes. Theme and pricing behavior both live in Company settings so admins can tune them without code changes.
